The Emergency First Aid at Work course is about providing you with the ability to deliver basic life support skills and emergency procedures to follow in the event of an accident or an injury. It will enable you to treat a patient until trained help arrives.

first_aid_1By attending the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course, you will learn a wide range of skills that will enable you to administer first aid treatment to a casualty who is unconscious, requires CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation),or is choking. It also enables you to treat minor conditions such as small cuts and grazes, minor burns and small splinters.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is particularly relevant to individuals who have been put forward by their employer or organisation to act as a First Aider. Many employers & other organisations do not realise they have a duty of care for not only their own staff but also to the public who may visit their premises. By having a trained first aider on site, this duty of care is addressed.

You can attend an Emergency First Aid at Work course at a location close to your home or work, as we have access to over 160 training venues across the UK. The course is delivered over a one day period with some courses being available at weekends.

As you would expect each course is run by an enthusiastic and experienced tutor and you pass the course by a combination of both assessment and written exams. Although the written exams are quite brief you will need a reasonable understanding and be able to write English to a reasonable standard to pass the course. A reasonable standard is defined by Key Skills L2 in English.

On passing the Emergency First Aid at Work course you will receive a certificate recognising your achievement which is valid for three years and is recognised by the Health & Safety Executive, helping your employer or organisation meet their legal Health & Safety requirements.
